National Trust/HUD Secretary's Award for Excellence in Historic Preservation: Fairbanks Flats, Beloit, Wisc. — Fairbanks Flats was constructed in 1917 as company housing for African-American machinists. National Trust/Advisory Council on Historic Preservation Award for Federal Partnerships in Historic Preservation: Federal Transit Administration, Lower Manhattan Recovery Office, New York, N.Y. — In 2006, the Vesey Street Staircase was named one of America's 11 Most Endangered Historic Places.
