Over 300 supporters gathered on October 10th for "Look South," a culinary adventure inspired by the collections of Villa Finale in San Antonio. As the only National Trust Historic Site in Texas, Villa Finale is the former home of preservationist and civic leader Walter Nold Mathis. Co-chaired by Josie Gill Davidson and Elizabeth Fauerso (great-niece of Mathis), proceeds from "Look South" will support the ongoing preservation and conservation of Villa Finale and its collections.

"Look South" included special dishes by three San Antonio chefs: Johnny Hernandez (La Gloria and True Flavors Catering), Geronimo Lopez (NAO, New World Flavors at the Culinary Institute of America, San Antonio), and Jesse Perez (Arcade Midtown Kitchen at the Pearl). Special beverages were created by craft cocktail maker Olaf Harmel of Blue Box, with wines donated by Republic. Exxon Mobil provided additional sponsorship for the event.
